about

‘Life’s Good’ is a song about feeling stuck even when things are going well. With cynical lyrics shouted over fuzzy guitars and raucous drums, this may be the most on-brand Rollercanes song to ever exist. This is the song for when things are going according to plan but you know you’re after more. “Life’s good still I’m feeling down.”

lyrics

I’ve never felt less like myself
I’ve never liked myself less
I guess that’s a good sign when you’re living like this
I act cool at the bar
But I eat lunch in my car
My degree’s not worth shit but no one’s asking

Life’s good still I’m feeling down
Come pick my brains
You’re allowed to take me out
But don’t count my drinks

Was that a little too strong
Have I said too much?
Oh don’t get me wrong I like being no one sometimes
It’s kind of nice now I think about it

And you do your best to try and please me
But I always end up feeling guilty cause…

Life’s good still I’m feeling down
Come pick my brains
You’re allowed to take me out
But don’t count my drinks

And I swear it’s not my choice
But I’ll try be a good boy for you

Life’s good still I’m feeling down
Come pick my brains
You’re allowed to take me out
But don’t count my drinks

The Rollercanes sound like a normal indie rock band on the surface but there’s always the unshakeable feeling that things could turn at any minute. The Melbourne 4-piece scout everyday life for something to sing about, bringing urgency to insignificance.
